It follows the story of the Wolf Clan and their history of flight from their homeland and eventual slavery that was really only hinted at in the first game. Winter of the Wolf takes place before the events in Battle Realms. What I was hoping would be a great addition turned out more average than anything else. Unfortunately, Winter of the Wolf is short and filled with a mixed bag of generally easy levels despite the addition of some new units and heroes. Still, Ubi Soft decided to get behind the developer to make an expansion to the game, which I was very happy about remembering expansions such as StarCraft: Brood Wars and Age of Empires II: The Conquerors. ![]() ![]() either way, it didn't get the sales it deserved. It somehow slipped out of view however, maybe under the haze of anticipation of WarCraft III when that game was still planned for a 2001 release. It had some great units, great play mechanics, interesting back-story, and terrific balancing. Liquid Entertainment's first game, Battle Realms was one of these. ![]() There are games that are released during the year that for some reason or another, people just don't really go out and buy, no matter how many good reviews it gets from dolts like us or the word of mouth it gets from gamers.
